Grapeseed Oil For Health and Beauty Care

The first bottle of Grapeseed oil I bought without knowing what this oil actually is and what are the properties and health benefits of it. So, I brought the bottle home and sat down to do some basic research. It didn't need much time until Grapeseed oil came to the top of my list of oils to use not just for food, but especially for health and beauty care. There are some pretty strong reasons why I love Grapeseed oil. It's in my kitchen and bathroom, on salad and on my skin.

Ok, firstly, reports from scientific laboratories and medical researches:

  • Grapeseed oil has high biologic activity, and it's active antioxidant slows down aging process protecting cells from damages caused by free radicals.
  • It contains high levels of linoleic acid (Omega-6 fatty Acid),  Vitamin E and minerals, that helps to hold water in cells preventing from dehydration and wrinkles.

Healing & Cosmetic Use:
  • Suitable for all skin types, but especially for oily skin.
  • Positively affects skin around eyes, face, lips, neck and cleavage area refreshing and moisturizing skin.
  • Renews skin that's been negatively affected by wind, Sun and other negative external world influences.
  • Softens rough skin, tightens and tones up mature and tired skin.
  • Taken internally it can help to balance cholesterol levels, some studies indicate that this oil also prevents several types of cancer cell development.
  • Grapeseed oil can improve blood circulation, so it helps to heal spider veins and varicose veins.
  • It's a great help healing such skin conditions as dermatitis.

Seems good enough, right? Let's add here three more great characteristics  of Grapeseed oil that make it stand out between other oils:

  • It has a very light, unobtrusive scent what makes it a perfect carrier oil for using with essential  oils without changing aromatic bouquet.
  • It get's absorbed by skin pretty fast, definitely faster than other popular oils.
  • It is a safe oil for internal and external usage and doesn't cause any skin irritations. Basically, it's safe for everyone, except for people who are allergic to grapes. Of course, take in account that we all are not the same and some people might have side effects, although I haven't really heard of them.

Some Ideas for Using Grapeseed Oil for Skincare

Make-up Remover:

It doesn't irritate eyes and is beneficial for skin around eyes and face in general, so it makes a great make-up remover. Put a drop of oil on cotton pad and clean down all those colors!

Carrier for Massage Oils:

Mix it with essential oils and you are getting a great massage oil in which carrier oil doesn't disturb the aromas of essential  oils.

Base for Herb Infused Oils:

Infused oil means that you leave into base oil fresh or dried herbs and let the oil to squeeze out of these herbs healing properties and active ingredients. Grapeseed oil makes a perfect base oil for infusing, that you can later use as massage oil or combine with other ingredients to create your homemade skincare products and healing balms.
