Easy DIY: Aphrodisiac Massage Oil for Winter Season

Love comes in not only through eyes and heart, but through your nostrils as well. In the previous article I already wrote about aphrodisiac oils and scents, and you can read it here: Aphrodisiac Scents: What and How? Today we are getting to a little easy DIY project that won't even ask you to roll up your sleeves. The aroma of this self-made massage oil will encourage romantic and sexual sensations and if you put in action your hands as well giving a relaxing massage to your loved one, love might really come into hearts of you both increasing your libido through the aroma and touch. By the way, this massage oil is a great gift for couples in cold winter season!

You will need a carrier oil of your choice:

  • Olive oil is one of the most popular massage oils. For romantic mood olive oil might not be the right one, but if you don't have another oil, this is not a bad option as well although some people really don't like its strong aroma.
  • Almond oil in this case fits very well in the bucket of scents (as it's also considered an aphrodisiac), so if users of this oil aren't allergic to nuts - go with it!
  • My personal favorite for massage oils is grapeseed oil because it has a very light  and unpretentious smell that doesn't disturb the composition of aromas and do not trigger any allergies.

Choose the one of these you prefer (or can get easily)!

And you will need these 3 essential oils: cinnamon, patchouli and orange - all three are aphrodisiac scents and a great, warming combination.

10 ml of the carrier oil is about 200 drops (or 0.33oz). For safe dilution it it should be 4-6 drops of essential oil on 10 ml of carrier oil. Cinnamon essential oil is very strong and might cause burning feelings, so on 10-15 ml carrier oil add just 1 drop of cinnamon essential oil, 2 drops of patchouli and 3 drops of orange essential oil. You can experiment adding more orange essential oil and less patchouli or cinnamon on bigger amount of carrier oil (keep the smell enjoyable, but not too strong), but do not overdo with cinnamon. The best option would be keeping the proportion 1:2:3 (cinnamon:patchouli:orange) or 1 drop of cinnamon to 5 drops of other essential oils on 10-15 ml of carrier oil .

Combine all 4 ingredients in a dark glass bottle/small jar etc, close it, shake to mix and it's done!

Take a note:

  • Citrus essential oils (in this case orange) are sun sensitive and suitable for using on skin not less than 12 hours before going into direct sunlight. That's one of reasons why this is a perfect massage oil for winter season.
  • Do not apply on skin this combination of essential oils without a carrier oil because it can irritate skin.
  • If you mix essential oils or other oils with essential oils, always keep them in dark glass containers. They should be made of glass because plastic tends to absorb essential oils and some essential oils are strong enough to erode plastic. Containers should be dark color to save essential oils from evaporating. If you do not have dark glass containers and do not want to use your massage oil immediately, keep it in a dark place and away from sunlight.

Add romantic or some kind of exotic music to strengthen erotic sensations while giving or enjoying a massage with your original massage oil!
