I had to do some online research, but something went wrong with internet connection... First hour I was reading a book. The second hour I was busy recycling old newspapers. All what I used you see in the picture:

Needle
Bamboo pick
Woolen yarn

Hand-made gifts are fun. And if you are making hand-made gifts it's just logical that one day you will get to hand-made gift bags (or the other way round). Wait, these gift bags are so fast and easy, and materials - so common that it could save you when you have bought (or prepared) a gift and forgot about warp or bag.
Glue together two newspaper pages to get thicker material. The rest, well, look at any gift bag you can get at any shop and repeat the same with newspapers.
I made these small bags:
So, we want bag handles as well. Firstly, making holes: needle works well, but is a bit too small.
After making little holes with needle I made them bigger with a bamboo pick:
So, we need handles. Well, I could have used colored ribbons and satin strings. I'm sure they would look great, but my choice this time was a simple brown woolen yarn. (Ok, I was too lazy to search for other materials and this one simply was on my table). And crochet hook helped me to make a braid:
The results for the first time probably aren't very impressive, yet my new gift bags look cute and are made with love (click on the picture to enlarge):
You don't like how they look? No worries, use any other paper to prepare gift bags or make them from newspapers and paint in different colors! Have fun recycling!
Oh, and feel free to share your gift bag or newspaper recycling ideas and experiences in comments!
